How to generate dummy JSON data
Create sample users, products, or API JSON for mocks and UI prototypes in your browser.
When dummy JSON helps
Front-end work often needs a stable payload before the real API exists. Fake JSON Generator prints placeholder users, products, or a paged API response you can paste into fixtures.
Steps
1) Open Fake JSON Generator at /tools/fake-json. 2) Choose a sample type (users, products, or a paged API shape). 3) Generate the sample. 4) Copy the JSON. Notes are optional — output comes from the selected sample, not from the notes field.
Worked example
A users sample gives an array you can paste into a mock server. JSON Formatter pretty-prints it. JSON → TypeScript infers interfaces from that paste. This is not a faker library with locales and not a copy of production PII. CSV ↔ JSON is for real tables you already have.
Privacy
Samples are generated locally. Related: /tools/json-formatter, /tools/json-to-typescript, /tools/uuid-generator if you only needed ids.
Common mistakes
Pasting Fake JSON into production analytics is a category error — the names and emails are placeholders. JSON Validator will say the sample is valid JSON; that does not mean the field set matches your API. Use JSON → TypeScript on a real response when you can. CSV ↔ JSON is for a table you already have, not for inventing rows. Notes on the page do not change the chosen sample type. Nothing is uploaded. Close the tab if you mixed a real payload into the box while experimenting.
