About hex bytes in the browser
Hex Encode / Decode dumps UTF-8 bytes as hexadecimal or restores text from an even-length hex string. 0x prefixes and spaces are allowed on decode. Odd-length hex is rejected. This is a byte dump, not encryption and not a hash — Hash Generator is the sibling when you need a digest.
Worked example: hi becomes 6869. International text uses UTF-8 code units, so é is C3 A9, not a single Latin-1 byte. Number Base Converter is for integers in binary/octal/decimal/hex, not UTF-8 strings.
