Private by design

This conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your text is not sent to a server.

Tip

Format pretty-prints. Minify compresses whitespace. These helpers are for reading and shipping snippets, not a full language toolchain.

How to convert with JS Formatter

  1. Paste HTML, CSS, or JavaScript in the input box.

  2. The formatted result updates as you type — nothing is uploaded.

  3. Choose Format or Minify, or Convert to to open another formatter.

  4. Copy the result. This is a local pretty-printer, not a compiler.

When should you use it?

  • HTML

Indent tags so a pasted fragment is easier to read.

  • CSS

Pretty-print rules, or minify before you embed a snippet.

  • JavaScript

Add line breaks around braces and semicolons for a quick read.

About formatting HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in the browser

HTML, CSS, and JS formatters pretty-print or minify snippets as you type. They are local helpers for reading and shipping copy-paste, not a compiler, not ESLint, not PostCSS, and not a browser. Format vs minify is a whitespace choice. Convert to jumps between HTML, CSS, and JS with separate persist keys.

Worked example: a one-line <div><span>x</span></div> becomes indented tags. A minified CSS rule block expands onto separate properties. Syntax that is badly broken may still look odd after format — the point is readability, not a guaranteed AST round-trip.

JS Formatter FAQ

No. It adds line breaks around braces and semicolons for a quick read, or minifies whitespace. It is not ESLint, not a bundler, and not Node. Syntax errors may still pretty-print poorly.

Treat this as a JS snippet helper. JSON → TypeScript is the sibling when the input is JSON, not source. Keep production secrets off shared machines.

No. Formatting stays in this browser. Convert to opens HTML or CSS formatters.
