About splitting a bill with a tip
A tip is a percentage of the pre-tip bill in this tool, not of the tax-inclusive total, unless you already included tax in the bill field. The tip amount is bill × (percent / 100). The grand total is bill + tip. Split evenly by dividing that total by the number of people. We do not round each share to coins — you see a full decimal so you can round at the table.
Customs vary: some countries include service; others expect 10–20% on the pre-tax subtotal. This page does not add sales tax. If your receipt already has tax, either tip on the pre-tax amount (enter that subtotal) or on the taxed total (enter the taxed total) according to local habit.
Uneven splits (one person had drinks) are not modeled: compute the table total, then settle extras separately. Discount Calculator is the inverse idea (percent off). All math stays in the browser — restaurant amounts are not uploaded.
