What to put in a QR code
Most people encode a URL, Wi‑Fi hint, or short message. Keep the text reasonably short so scanners stay reliable.
Steps
1) Open QR Code Generator at /tools/qr-code-generator. 2) Choose a content type and paste a URL or other details. 3) The QR code updates as you type — there is no Generate button. 4) Download PNG, SVG, or PDF. Generation runs locally in this tab.
Worked example
A https URL for a product page is the usual payload. Wi‑Fi style strings are longer and make a denser code that cheap cameras may struggle with. Barcode Generator at /tools/barcode-generator is 1D (EAN, Code 128), not a QR. Image tools edit photos; they do not encode URLs. Nothing is uploaded. Print a test scan before a marketing drop.

Common mistakes
Encoding a novel into a QR makes a dense pattern cheap cameras fail. Wi‑Fi payloads are long; test scan before a poster print. This is not a barcode (1D) and not an image compressor. Tracking parameters in the URL still work — the code just carries the string. Nothing is uploaded. Logo overlay is not supported. Close the tab if the URL is an unlisted staging site.
