How is it calculated?
GPA is quality points times credits, divided by attempted credits. Letters map to a 4.0 scale (A = 4.0 … F = 0). Numeric points such as 3.7 are allowed when your catalog publishes them.

About weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale
A semester GPA is not the average of letter grades. A four-credit C pulls more than a one-credit A. This calculator uses the common US 4.0 mapping: A/A+ = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, down to F = 0. You can also type a numeric quality point such as 3.7 if your school publishes points instead of letters. Each line is `grade, credits`. Blank lines are ignored.
The result is quality points divided by attempted credits. Pass/fail rows should be omitted unless your registrar assigns points. We do not apply major-only filters, repeated-course forgiveness, or weighted honors (+0.5) — those policies differ by campus. If your school uses a 5.0 or 7.0 scale, convert letters using your catalog, or enter the catalog’s numeric points directly.
This is not an official transcript. Copy the GPA for planning, then confirm with the registrar. Course lists never leave this browser tab.

GPA Calculator FAQ
Each line is `grade, credits`. Letters map A/A+ = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, down to F = 0. You can type a numeric quality point such as 3.7 instead of a letter. GPA is Σ(points × credits) / Σ(credits), so a four-credit C pulls more than a one-credit A. Blank lines are ignored. Credits cannot total zero.
Not always. We do not apply repeated-course forgiveness, pass/fail omission unless you leave those rows out, honors weighting (+0.5), or 5.0/7.0 scales. If your catalog publishes numeric points, enter those numbers. Treat the result as planning math and confirm with the registrar.
