The date and time you type are civil wall time in the source IANA zone. We convert that local clock to a UTC instant using the offset that actually applies on that calendar date — including daylight saving — then format the same instant in the destination zone. The hour badge is the difference between those two offsets on that instant, not a year-round constant. Compare-table times are the same UTC moment read in each city.

About converting IANA time zones
A “3 p.m. meeting” is a wall clock in a specific zone, not a universal instant until you name that zone. This converter treats the datetime-local value as civil time in the source IANA zone (for example America/New_York), converts it to UTC using the offset that applies on that calendar date — including DST transitions — then formats the same instant in the target zone. Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh is UTC+7 all year; Europe/London switches.
IANA names are the same identifiers used by operating systems and JavaScript Intl. City names in the list are underscores replaced with spaces. Ambiguous overlap hours (when clocks fall back) follow the engine’s choice of offset; gap hours (spring forward) may be invalid. We do not guess offsets from abbreviations like EST, which are not unique.
This is not a flight-duration tool and not a Unix timestamp converter (see Timestamp Converter). The conversion runs entirely in the browser with no geolocation and no upload.
How to convert a time zone
Enter the local date and time
Type the wall clock in the source zone, or press Now for the current local time there. This is not UTC unless From is UTC.
Pick from and to zones
Search IANA names such as America/New_York or Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh. Swap if you typed them backwards. Abbreviations in the list update for the instant you chose.
Read the converted clock
The large result updates as you change fields — there is no Calculate button. Copy it, add a one-hour calendar event, or tap a compare-table row to change the destination.
No location sharing
We do not read GPS or send times to a server. Close the tab to clear the fields.
