Quick Tips
Use JPG for photographs when you want a smaller file. Use PNG for UI, logos, and images that need transparency. Keep the aspect ratio to avoid distortion. Lower quality usually means a smaller JPEG or WebP file.
Why use our image resizer?
Change pixel width and height in this tab so a photo fits a form, a social slot, or an email header — without uploading the file.
Fast & Simple
Drop a file, pick a preset or type pixels, and download. Nothing waits on a server.
High Quality
The browser canvas scales the bitmap you chose. Upsizing cannot invent real detail.
Works Everywhere
Presets cover Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, blog OG images, and email headers.
Popular Use Cases
Optimize for Website
Hero and OG images that load on a phone without a 4000-pixel original.
Social Media
Square posts and 9:16 stories without stretching in the crop UI later.
Email Campaigns
Headers that fit the inbox width instead of a camera JPEG.
Print & Design
A working size for a mock. This is not a print RIP or DPI control.
Personal Use
Avatars, ID photos, and attachments before you send them.
Your data stays private
Resize runs in this browser. The file is not uploaded or stored on a server.
About resizing images locally
Image Resizer changes width and height in pixels. Optional aspect lock keeps the ratio when you edit one side. Work happens in a canvas in this browser: the original file is never sent to a server. Use it when a form wants a maximum width, a thumbnail, or a square avatar source before crop.
Resizing is not the same as compressing. A 4000-pixel JPEG scaled to 800 pixels is usually smaller, but PNG graphics can stay large. Pair with Image Compressor if you still need a quality slider. Upscaling cannot invent real detail — it only stretches pixels. Extreme dimensions can freeze a low-memory tab.

The shipped URL is /tools/image-resizer. We do not batch a folder, do not write IPTC, and do not resample with a named algorithm beyond what the canvas offers. Close the tab to drop the bitmap. If the destination wants a square, crop after you have the long side right.

Image Resizer FAQ
When lock is on, editing one side updates the other to preserve the ratio. Turn it off only if you intend to stretch. Units are pixels of the bitmap, not CSS display size.
No. Enlarging stretches pixels. Pair with Image Compressor if you still need a JPEG quality slider after shrinking.
No. Resize runs in this browser. Close the tab to discard the decoded image.
