Stay focused
Eliminate distractions, stay in the moment, and make every Pomodoro count. Notifications and the next-session auto-start are optional in Settings. This page will not lock other apps or silence your phone.
Why Pomodoro works
Improved focus
A named block makes it easier to start one task and postpone the rest until the break.
Reduced burnout
Short and long breaks are part of the loop so rest is scheduled, not improvised after you stall.
Better productivity
Finishing a 25-minute slice is a smaller promise than “work all afternoon,” so you actually start.
Easy to follow
Four modes, a visible countdown, and a long break after a set of pomodoros — no account required.
Your data stays private
Durations, tasks, and today’s counts stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.
About Pomodoro sessions in the browser
Pomodoro Timer runs 25-minute focus blocks with short and long breaks in this tab. It is a local loop, not a team standup bot. Use it when you want a simple cadence without an account.
The classic pattern is 25/5 with a longer break after four focus sessions — change the duration fields if your block is shorter or longer. Background throttling can delay a chime. This is not medical or productivity-science advice; it is a timer with labels.
Related: Timer for an arbitrary countdown, Stopwatch for elapsed work, Time Zone Converter if your pair is in another zone.
The URL is /tools/pomodoro-timer. We do not sync streaks to an account. Custom work/break lengths, tasks, and today’s counts stay in this browser only. A raw countdown that is not a focus/break cycle belongs on Timer. Closing the tab drops an in-progress countdown; completed counts remain until you clear site data.
Teams that need shared focus rooms should use their own tools. This page will not ping Slack. Keep the tab visible if the switch from focus to break matters.
How to run a Pomodoro
Pick a mode
Choose Focus, Short Break, Long Break, or Custom. The ring shows the time left for that mode.
Set durations
Classic values are 25, 5, and 15 minutes, with a long break every four pomodoros. Reset to default restores those.
Start and stay visible
Start begins the countdown. Space pauses, R resets, S skips. Background tabs may drift — keep this page open if the switch matters.
Private cadence
Tasks and today’s counts stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Use Timer if you needed an arbitrary duration instead.

Pomodoro Timer FAQ
The in-progress countdown is lost. Completed pomodoros, tasks, and duration settings stay in this browser until you clear site data. Nothing is uploaded.
No. Classic values are 25, 5, and 15 minutes with a long break every four pomodoros. Change the duration fields or Reset to default. Custom is a one-off length. This is a timer with names, not productivity-science advice.
No. Counts, tasks, and settings stay on this device. Nothing is stored on a server.
No. Today’s counts roll over at local midnight on this browser. Follow the Timer tab for 25/5 and a longer break after a set of focuses. Timer is the sibling for an arbitrary duration that is not a Pomodoro. Keep the tab visible if you rely on the chime. Notifications need browser permission and still will not fire if the tab is discarded.
