About a countdown timer in this tab
Timer counts down from minutes and seconds you set. It runs locally. Use it for a short exam, a tea steep, or a break. It is not a calendar reminder and it will not ring if the tab is discarded.
Browsers throttle background timers; keep the tab visible if the last seconds matter. Notifications depend on the browser and permission — do not assume an OS alarm. Pomodoro is a structured 25-minute loop. Stopwatch counts up instead of down.

The URL is /tools/timer. We do not schedule a push when the laptop is closed. Hours-long countdowns are a poor fit if the OS sleeps the tab. For a repeating 25/5 cadence open Pomodoro. For elapsed time open Stopwatch. Close the tab to discard the remaining time.
Kitchen and exam use is the point. There is no recurring series, no snooze, and no lock-screen widget. Granting notification permission is optional and still will not fire if the tab is gone.
How to run a countdown
Set minutes and seconds
Enter the duration, then Start. Pause and Reset are in the panel.

Background tabs may drift. Stay on the page for a short critical countdown.
Reset when done
Reset clears the duration display. Closing the tab discards it.
No server alarm
